PresetSync End User Licence Agreement
For the PresetSync applications for macOS and Windows Effective date: 19 July 2026 Last updated: 2 August 2026
This End User Licence Agreement (“EULA”) is a legal agreement between you and:
DResearch Lab Limited 51 Bracken Road Dublin D18 CV48 Ireland Email: [email protected]
“PresetSync,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean DResearch Lab Limited. “Application” means the PresetSync desktop software for macOS or Windows, its included components, documentation, and updates.
1. Affirmative acceptance
The macOS and Windows installers must present this EULA before installation and require you to select or click Agree to continue. By clicking Agree, installing, starting a trial, activating, or using the Application, you accept this EULA. If you do not agree, select Disagree or Cancel and do not install or use the Application.
If you accept for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind it. If you are not legally capable of accepting this agreement, do not install or use the Application.
The PresetSync Terms of Service govern purchases, accounts, the website, PresetSync Cloud, Cloud Folder services, support, and related services. The Privacy Policy explains personal-data processing. Both are incorporated by reference. If terms conflict, this EULA governs the software licence and the Terms of Service govern hosted and transactional Services.
Current copies are available at:
- Terms of Service: https://presetsync.app/terms-of-service/
- Privacy Policy: https://presetsync.app/privacy-policy/
2. Licence grant
Subject to this EULA and payment of any applicable fee, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to install and use the object-code version of the Application on authorized computers for your personal or internal business purposes.
The Application is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors retain all rights not expressly granted.
2.1 Personal licence
A Personal licence is for one individual and may authorize up to three computers.
2.2 Studio licence
A Studio licence is for one organization and may authorize up to ten computers. The organization may permit its employees and contractors to use the Application for its internal purposes, but remains responsible for their compliance. The first release does not include separate employee accounts, roles, invitations, or seat management.
2.3 Perpetual major-version licence
A purchased licence is perpetual for the purchased major version unless terminated for material breach. A PresetSync 1.x licence includes updates released for 1.x. A future major version may require a separate purchase.
3. Trial
PresetSync may offer a seven-day Personal trial. The trial is local and app-only, begins only when you select Start Trial, and does not include PresetSync Cloud. Trial functionality may end automatically when the trial period expires. You must not manipulate system time, local state, installation records, or other technical measures to extend or repeat a trial unlawfully.
4. Activation, offline use, and deauthorization
Permanent activation requires the registered email and activation key and may create an installation-bound, signed, non-expiring offline receipt. The raw key is not the continuing offline entitlement.
Cloud Folder can remain usable offline and does not require periodic licence verification. A computer deauthorized remotely may continue to operate while fully offline until it next contacts PresetSync. You must not intentionally prevent contact to evade a device limit or continue unauthorized use.
Application activation and PresetSync Cloud authorization are independent. Cancelling, suspending, or deleting PresetSync Cloud does not revoke a valid perpetual Application licence.
5. Licence restrictions
Except where applicable law expressly permits an act despite this restriction, you must not:
- copy the Application except for installation and a reasonable backup;
- sell, resell, rent, lease, sublicense, distribute, or commercially host it;
- share a Personal licence among unrelated people or organizations;
- exceed or circumvent computer, licence, trial, subscription, or authorization limits;
- modify, forge, or transfer activation keys, receipts, or authorization records;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code;
- modify or create derivative works from the Application;
- remove copyright, trademark, attribution, or proprietary notices;
- use non-public implementation details to build or operate a competing synchronization service;
- use the Application or PresetSync Cloud unlawfully, maliciously, or in breach of the Terms of Service.
Nothing in this EULA prevents rights that cannot lawfully be restricted, including limited interoperability, security research, or reverse-engineering rights expressly provided by applicable law. You must first request information from us where the law requires that step.
6. PresetSync Cloud and Cloud Folder
The Application can use either a customer-controlled Cloud Folder or the optional PresetSync Cloud service as the one active authoritative repository for a workspace.
Cloud Folder remains available under a valid Application licence and does not require a PresetSync Cloud subscription. PresetSync Cloud requires a compatible Application licence, active Cloud entitlement, internet access, and separate authorization. Cloud prices, renewal, quota, retention, cancellation, refunds, acceptable use, and account rules are in the Terms of Service.
PresetSync Cloud is intended for supported preset files and closely related configuration or collection data. You must not use it as generic cloud storage, a bulk transfer service, an archive, a backup destination, or a repository for unrelated documents, media, databases, executables, or other data, and you must not disguise content to bypass restrictions.
7. Your content and third-party applications
You retain ownership of your presets and other content. You are responsible for having the rights and lawful basis required to synchronize it and for complying with third-party application, plug-in, format, and storage-provider terms.
Third-party applications and formats may change without notice. We do not guarantee compatibility with every product, operating system, filesystem, provider, or future third-party version, or that a preset will behave identically after synchronization.
8. Synchronization, deletions, and backups
The Application may automatically create, modify, replace, rename, move, and delete managed files on linked computers. Synchronization can propagate corruption, unwanted edits, changes by another authorized user, and small or mass deletions.
Before publishing a missing file as a deletion, the Application checks that the configured root and volume are available, waits for changes to settle, rescans, and correlates credible renames or moves. A missing or identity-mismatched root or unavailable volume is not treated as deletion intent.
After those checks, stable deletions may propagate automatically regardless of number or collection percentage. There is no guaranteed mass-deletion threshold, warning, separate confirmation, review queue, or notification. Every ordinary accepted file deletion creates a tombstone and Trash entry, but Trash and recovery are time-limited and are not guaranteed backups.
Reset Sync Data, account purge, Empty Trash, permanent deletion, retention expiry, provider failure, malicious activity, or multiple failures may make data irrecoverable.
You must maintain an independent, current, tested backup outside the active PresetSync repository. Before deleting originals, replacing or reformatting a computer, disconnecting storage, or changing repository authority, verify sync status, pending changes, conflicts, destination files, and your backup.
9. Default crash and error telemetry
The Application sends limited, scrubbed crash and error telemetry by default to help us diagnose defects, improve reliability, and protect the Services. The first release does not provide a client setting to disable this collection.
Telemetry may include:
- Application version, build, release channel, and environment;
- operating-system version and architecture;
- crash type, stack traces, thread state, and symbolicated call locations;
- stable internal error codes and recoverability classes;
- limited, scrubbed breadcrumbs immediately before an error;
- limited timestamps, event identifiers, correlation IDs, and network information such as IP address where received.
We may upload PresetSync’s own dSYM and PDB build symbols to the diagnostics provider to symbolicate stack traces. The Application is designed not to send preset bytes, filenames, collection names, logical or absolute paths, email addresses, payment details, passwords, credentials, tokens, licence keys, signed receipts, or private signing material in telemetry.
Although telemetry is scrubbed and contains no intended customer content or direct account identity, some telemetry may still be personal data. The Privacy Policy explains purposes, legal bases, providers (including Sentry for client crash/error telemetry), retention, international transfers, access, deletion, and objection rights.
Client crash telemetry is separate from local logs, diagnostics you choose to send to support, and essential server-side security and transaction logs for PresetSync Cloud.
PresetSync Cloud also records bounded server health, error-rate, latency, resource-use, and uptime metrics and essential security and transaction logs. Those server records are separate from client crash telemetry and are processed as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Updates, compatibility, and support
We may provide updates to correct defects, improve reliability, preserve operating-system or third-party compatibility, address security issues, or comply with law. We may require an update where reasonably necessary for security or continued Cloud operation.
We may stop supporting older Application versions where reasonably necessary for security, compatibility, or service operation. This does not convert a future paid major version into an included update.
Support is provided according to the then-current support description and does not guarantee resolution of every issue or recovery of every file.
11. Third-party components and distribution channels
The Application may include open-source or third-party components. Their licence notices are supplied with the Application or accompanying documentation. Where a third-party licence grants rights that conflict with this EULA for that component, the third-party licence controls for that component.
If you obtain the Application through Apple, Microsoft, or another distributor, that distributor’s mandatory terms may also apply. DResearch Lab Limited, not the distributor, is responsible for the Application except to the extent the distributor’s mandatory terms state otherwise.
12. Intellectual property
The Application, its code, design, interface, documentation, branding, and related intellectual property are owned by or licensed to DResearch Lab Limited. This EULA grants only the limited use rights stated above. No ownership right or licence to our trademarks is transferred.
13. Suspension and termination
This EULA remains effective until terminated. You may terminate it by uninstalling the Application and ceasing all use.
We may terminate or restrict the licence if you materially or repeatedly breach this EULA, obtained the licence fraudulently, circumvent controls, use the Application unlawfully, or fail to remedy a remediable breach after reasonable notice. Immediate action may be taken to prevent harm, contain a security incident, or comply with law.
On termination, you must stop using and uninstall the Application. Termination does not require us to delete your local preset files and does not affect rights or liabilities that already arose. Cloud data and accounts are handled under the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
14. Warranty and disclaimers
Nothing in this EULA limits a mandatory consumer guarantee, conformity right, remedy, or other right that cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to those rights, the Application is provided “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, correction of every defect, compatibility with every third-party product or future version, uninterrupted synchronization, or recovery of every file or version.
The Application is synchronization software with limited recovery features. It is not a substitute for an independent backup, archive, or disaster-recovery system.
15. Limitation of liability
Nothing excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where prohibited, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, wilful misconduct, mandatory consumer remedies, data-protection rights, or another liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
For consumers, we remain responsible for loss that is a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach or failure to use reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable law. We are not responsible for business losses suffered by a consumer using the Application mainly for private purposes.
For business users, to the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, anticipated savings, opportunity, goodwill, business interruption, indirect or consequential loss, or loss or corruption of data that a current independent backup could reasonably have avoided.
Subject to liabilities that cannot be limited, our aggregate liability to a business user arising from the Application is limited to the amount paid for the affected Application licence plus amounts paid for an affected Service in the 12 months before the event.
16. Export and legal compliance
You must comply with applicable export-control, sanctions, import, and other laws. You must not use, export, re-export, transfer, or make the Application available where prohibited or to a prohibited person or destination.
17. Changes to this EULA
We may update this EULA for changes to law, security, the Application, or related Services. The updated version will show a revision date. We will provide additional notice where required or reasonably appropriate for a material change.
We will not apply a material change retroactively where doing so would be unlawful or unfair. Where express acceptance is required, an updated installer or Application may require you to click Agree before continuing to install or use the affected version or Service.
18. General
You may not assign or transfer this EULA or licence to an unrelated third party without our written consent, except where applicable law gives you that right. We may transfer it in a merger, restructuring, financing, or sale of the PresetSync business without reducing mandatory rights.
If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, it will be adjusted or removed only to the necessary extent; the remainder continues. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
This EULA, the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, checkout information, and any additional terms expressly accepted for a Service form the agreement. A separately signed agreement prevails where it expressly overrides them.
19. Governing law and jurisdiction
This EULA is governed by Irish law. The courts of Ireland have jurisdiction, but consumers retain mandatory protections of their country of residence and any right to bring proceedings there. Either party may seek urgent protective relief in a court with appropriate jurisdiction.
